[Warrior Condition: Triple Trouble] Sinister Might CondiWar

Recommended Posts

Introduction

There are 3 ways to push your Condition Damage over the cap:

  1. Might
  2. Banner of Strength
  3. Signets that provide Condition Damage (Mesmer, Guardian)

So I've been using this might stacking build on my warrior for Triple Trouble condition team and it worked really well for me. With this build, I can maintain 20+ stacks of might during the fight. Most of the time I could solo a husk faster than the rest of my team could. :D

Do take note that this build sacrifices most of the defense for offense, so it's only recommended to condi veterans.

Feel free to give comments/suggestions for this build. :)

Why Sinister?

  • ++ Condition Damage, self explanatory.
  • + Precision, higher critical chance means a higher chance to get might and cause more bleeding.
  • + Power, you can actually feel like you're contributing during burn phase with this stat.
  • Since warrior are naturally tanky, so why not sacrifice some survivability for more DPS on both husks and the wurm?

Pros & Cons of the build

+ Melts husk down super fast

+ Good control

+ Deals decent damage to the Wurm during burn phase

- Not very beginner friendly

Cost of the build

Full exotic Sinister gear:

  • 40 - 50 gold
  • 800 Lost Bandit Crests from Silverwastes
  • 720 Seals of Beetletun from Caudecus Manor

Specializations

Arms - Signet Mastery

  • Signets cooldown reduction with free precision!

Arms - Blademaster

  • Higher crit chance = more bleeds, more might and more vulnerability.

Arms - Dual Wielding

  • Higher attack speed = more bleeds = more damage.

Tactics - Leg Specialist

  • Immobilize when applying cripple.
  • Hamstring (3rd hit from sword auto attack chain) is a cripple.
  • Savage Leap (Sword 2) is another cripple.

Tactics - Burning Arrows

  • Cooldown reduction on Longbow skills, always nice to have.

Tactics - Phalanx Strength

  • Good if you're paired up to take on a husk.
  • Since we can crit wurm now, it's not that bad anymore.
  • You can take Vigorous Shouts instead if you're soloing husk.

Discipline - Warrior's Sprint

  • Mobility boost.
  • Immobilization clear from using Savage Leap (sword skill 2).

Discipline - Brawler's Recovery

  • Filler trait, but hey free condi clear!

Discipline - Heightened Focus

  • Steroids, watch your DPS spikes when this procs.

Utility Skills

Healing Signet

  • Primarily the reason I don't take condi cleanse for this build.
  • The healing from this signet offsets the poison and torment from veteran wurms.
  • Spam this before husks spawn to stack up some precision from Signet Mastery.
  • If you're dying to condi, you can activate it for the 6 seconds of resistance.

Signet of Fury

  • Higher crit chance.
  • Emergency instant max adrenaline for Combustive Shot or Flurry.

Frenzy

  • Quickness for 6 seconds
  • Allows you to execute your Longbow combo faster and smoother since most of them have long cast times.
  • Can be used to stack up crazy amounts of bleeds on your sword too.
  • 5 stacks of short duration might.
  • Substitute this with Throw Bolas if more control is needed.

"For Great Justice!"

  • More might and fury.
  • Good for burn phase.

Signet of Rage

  • More might, more fury and swiftness.
  • Extra precision from Signet Mastery.

Weapons & Sigils

Sinister Sword Main Hand - Superior Sigil of Strength

  • It makes good use of your high critical hit chance with full Sinister gear.
  • More might, higher DPS!

Sinister Sword Off Hand - Superior Sigil of Agony

  • Allows us to get to 100% bleed duration.
  • Alternatively, you can use Superior Sigil of Bursting for higher damage ticks on other condis.

Giver's (or Sinister) Longbow - Superior Sigil of Smoldering

  • Extends burning duration for slightly higher initial spike damage.

Giver's (or Sinister) Longbow - Superior Sigil of Corruption

  • You can swap this out for Superior Sigil of Battle if you're lazy.

Armor & Runes

Full Sinister Armor & Trinkets - 6 Superior Runes of Aristocracy

  • Condition damage version of Strength Runes.
  • More condition damage.
  • Longer might duration.

Rotations

Before husks spawn, use longbow to shoot the main wurm to fill up your adrenaline. When husks spawn:

  1. Max adrenaline Combustive Shot (Longbow Burst)
  2. Arcing Arrow (Longbow 3) on the fire field.
  3. Fan of Fire (Longbow 2)
  4. Pin Down (Longbow 5)
  5. Swap to Sword/Sword
  6. Flurry (Sword Burst)
  7. Impale (Sword 4)
  8. Sever Artery, Gash, Hamstring (Sword 1) until Impale is off cooldown.
  9. Impale (Sword 4)
  10. Switch back to Longbow
  11. Repeat the rotation.

Extra Tips

  • During burn phase, throw down Combustive Shot then follow up with an Arcing Arrow and "For Great Justice!" to help with might stacking.
  • Steal Banner of Strength or/and Battle Standard from the burn phase and place it at your husk spawn spot. Shoutout to Arieon for starting this trend in OCE raids.

Now now boys, this is information sharing. Not a ego boosting thread.

Go to the norn thread if you want.

BTW Kazu, might want to put a difficulty level/cost of setting up this build. And the drawbacks. Like the potential of getting insta-downed when slapped by a husk etc.

And you missed ultility skills. What do you bring on your bar? And what happens if you get vet wurm poision and torment on you?

I use a different build for full sinister warrior. It isn't tailored exactly to the husk encounter, it's more of a dungeon speedrun build.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNAscTjMdU3ZfH2eQHagkg6cAUADvqqI9McDHPA-TxRFABE8EAGUJowq/AwpAgYlfBt/gv6DIFwiKrA-e

6 might = 210 power 210 condi
2211 power 1846 condi

Critrate = 100%
12s*5 = 6066 torment = 404.4 dps torment
1 impale = 0.5
6 sever artery = 3.6
6 gash = 3.6
6 hamstring = 3.6
12 bleeds 16s AA = 12.8 b/s
6 bleeds 6s Trait = 2.4 b/s
7 bleeds 10s Sigil = 4.5 b/s
Total = 19.7 b/s = 2655.6 dps bleed
Power multiplier on rotation = 11.3 => 0.75 m/s
Direct dps = 0.75 * 2211 * 1.68 * 1.1 * 1.1 * 1000 / 2600 = 1297 dps direct on mobs with 2600 armor.

Total dps = 4357. After 10% speedmod, 4793 dps. Assumed that player uses only autoattacks, skill 4 off cooldown and has zero party support. Use of Riposte and Final Thrust increases DPS against normal mobs. Usage of savage leap reduces dps, but increases cripple uptime; unless required for crippling, best not to use savage leap unless you're standing in a useful combo field. DPS will be higher if torment can be doubled by the mob moving.

The rotation calculation also assumes only S/S is used. In practice swapping in LB for mobs with higher HP is useful since you can add permanent burning condition to it - something that can be very, very useful against the Legendary Shoggoroth. However swaps should not be done more often than every 25 seconds; without LB5 available, burning alone would be a dps loss relative to the very high bleed of S/S.

This is the hardest hitting condi build in the game given that unlike all other condi classes, the warrior's condis cleave. However, it's still behind the 7468 dps of the direct damage 66002 variant, so its utility is more against mobs with high defense, against things you want to keep crippled, against uncrittable mobs outside zergs (where power + condi damage > power alone) and against players. Carrying more than one in any dungeon group will waste a lot of bleed stacks.

No point taking blademaster since Opportunist gives you perm fury from your autoattack chain alone, allowing you to skip FGJ and take Strengthbanner/SoMight + Battle Standard, and allows you to maintain the 100% critrate even when in LB mode. As long as you are in range of a Discbanner your critrate is 100%; if in range of a Spotter ranger your critrate is 99%. My personal might per second is somewhat lower at around 6 instead of the 10 Kazu's variant holds, but this is also a PS type build for party support, so it outputs that might to the rest of the party as well.

If tailoring the build specifically to the husks, critrate and critdmg isn't a factor since husks are damage-resistant and the wurm itself is uncrittable, so I would stick a banner of strength there, and replace signet of might with throw bola instead for more immob. Signet of Fury would be replaced with Signet of Stamina to allow me to dodge every single husk attack. Condiclears aren't required if you're never hit by the husk, but in case of carelessness SoStamina doubles as an emergency condiclear.

Here is the problem with the build:

You have no poison.   You must remember the 4 main Conditions for a Husk:

Poison, Burn, Bleed, Torment

All other conditions are not that important:

After extensive hours of testing builds and going back to the drawing board, I believe this is the max DPS you can have while soloing a Husk (and remember condi team should be capped at 3).

The Build is pretty self explanatory on the weapon rotations etc. but I can explain the entire build if people want it.

Poison doesn't deal that much damage and husk doesn't use regeneration. Also, I can sustain 20+ might all the time so the damage loss from poison is compensated.

You're using Sigil of Earth on your longbow but I don't think you will use your longbow often enough to justify it. Also, you shouldn't have issue reaching 25 bleed with just sword anyways.

Every condition duration caps out at 100%. The way you set up your trait and food, you already have 75% condi duration to begin with. With your Torment Runes and Deep Cut trait, you wasted 25% torment duration and 25% bleed duration.

Banner of Strength is nice, but not very necessary especially when you're soloing. You can always steal it from burn phase anyways, that way you can free up your utility slot for something better. :P

As for the trait Furious, I don't see much use from it since we're not gonna spam our burst skill. Emergency adrenaline can be gained by using Signet of Fury too.

Physical Training does literally nothing here.

Warrior's Sprint is nice, but we have good swiftness uptime with Signet of Rage.

Lastly, thanks for the feedback. :)

Update:

  • Added a small section for the upcoming specialization patch.
  • Condi Warrior got buffed (Longbow buff, burning intensity, vulnerability change) and nerfed (shorter bleed duration and damage) at the same time. Will update this guide completely after some trials when the patch hits.

Edit: The guide is now updated for the core specializations patch.
