Hello and welcome to the next installment of the 2016 TTS Pokemon Tournament Series!

This season's competition is called the Kanto Klassic in honour of the game's 20th anniversary!

Bracket Link: TTS Kanto Klassic

The Format:

  • Pokemon X/Y/OR/AS
  • Lv. 50 Flat (Game auto-levels to 50)
  • 6v6 (Pokemon on team)
  • Singles (1 on 1)

The Restrictions:

  • Can only use Pokemon with a National Dex Number between 1-151
  • Cannot use Mewtwo or Mew
  • Cannot use "Held Items" (items your Pokemon holds, like Leftovers)
  • Cannot use more than one of any particular Pokemon (Can't use 6 Magikarp)
  • Cannot use Pokemon with illegitimate moves, stats, natures, abilities, etc (Stay honest!)

The Process:

  • Check here for the bracket to see your opponent for the week.
  • Register their FC on your 2DS, 3DS, 3DSXL, N3DS, or N3DSXL system.
  • Arrange a time to meet with them during the week for your match (If a meet-up isn't arranged, one or both participants may be disqualified, so talk to me if you're having trouble arranging a match!)
  • Face your opponent in a one-off match on your systems or, if both parties agree, on Pokemon Showdown (link here) (Note: You should have a team made on your system because not everyone uses Showdown nor should a participant pressure someone into using it, attempting to force someone to do so may result in your removal from the competition).
  • Report who won, and how many Pokemon each participant had left, on this thread.
  • Watch the bracket for next week's opponent.
  • Have fun!

The Schedule:

  • 5/29 - 6/4: Registration (Please include Friend Code, list of codes are here)
  • 6/5 - 6/11: Team Building (You cannot change your team after 5/11, but could replace, say, your bulky Jolteon with an offensive Jolteon or alter the Jolteon to fit your current strategy)
  • 6/12 - 6/18: Round 1 - Marcel vs Celtic, Shadoww vs Carrie
  • 6/19 - 6/25: Round 2 - Jmaster vs Celtic, Moqi vs Kalak, Icarus vs Shadoww, Nexforce vs Saevai
  • 6/26 - 7/2: Semi's - ?? vs ??, ?? vs ??
  • 7/3 - 7/9: Finals - ?? vs ??

Does the moveset have to be from Generation 1? or any generation? and moveset that can only be legitimate in generation 1 or most recent generation?

For example: Blastoise can't learn aura sphere in the first 5 generation, but can learn it in Generation 6 as an egg move. Also Aura Sphere didn't exist in generation 1

I believe according to the recent Kanto classic tourney that the game recently held. Moves can be from any generation as long as the pokemon can legally learn it.

Exactly, so long as it can legally learn it, you're good!
