Sera have you ever read Brandon Sanderson's books? I really like them, and he is quite into the ideas of world building and the framework for story universes etc. You should check out this website with all the 15 minute podcasts him and some other did about this.

Aaah, nuts, I totally forgot that I hadn't responded to this!

While I would be vaguely curious what that guy has to say, I unfortunately cannot afford the monthly membership to sites like that, lol... But beyond that, I've actually never had much issue storycrafting (beyond a tendency I am slowly overcoming of making too long of sentences). Much more a matter of acknowledging the writing world is a very, very harsh place, and most writers have a real job, lol

Example for the folks curious and interested in reading a bit of an incomplete roleplaying story, take a look at http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=14301209

I'm Urban Thorne/Seraphi Thorne, better half is Cheshiyre, hehe... you can watch my writing style start to evolve. XD

Name: Mikazuki (GW2), Hayashi (Everywhere else)

My character names after the surname are アウラ (Aura, Human Mesmer) 影鬼 (Kageoni, Shadow-Demon, Human Thief), 弓夜 (Yumiya, Bow of the Night, Sylvari Ranger), 速子 (Hayako, Speedy One, Sylvari Engineer), 虎 (Tora, Tiger, Charr Warrior), 死神 (Shinigami, God of Death, Norn Necromancer), 石垣 (Ishigaki, Stone Wall, Norn Guardian), 烈火 (Rekka, Blazing Inferno, Asura Elementalist). The surname itself is 三日月, or Crescent moon, so technically my 'central' character is the ranger, because she's 'Crescent Moon, The Bow of the Night'.

About me: I'm what people would consider a hardcore gamer. IRL, I graduated from Pharmacy, but I'm doing unrelated temp job at the moment while waiting for my job applications to Japan to go through. I'm approximately JLPT N2+, or basically able to hold a conversation about non-technical topics in Japanese... and I also know Chinese, though my native language is English. Nonhuman languages I know are HTML, Ruby, SQL and VBA Excel.

I play five instruments - keyboards/piano, drums, guitar, bass, shinobue and I'm learning a sixth, violin. I also sing and produce electronic music in my very-limited spare time.

Non-GW2 stuff I've done include having maxed level characters in RuneScape (yes really, maxed), Ragnarok Online 2, Neverwinter, and a ton of offline RPGs not really worth mentioning. And this would be one of my favourite games.

In GW2 I'm a theorycrafter, I've all 8 classes made for very specialised purposes. I can optimise on request most classes for any purpose, though some classes are much better at some purposes than others (ahem condi guard) and some are impossible (ahem reflect necro). That said since 'max damage in smallest amount of time without dying to 3 or less targets at a time' tends to be the most common, my thief is active most of the time, while you'll usually see me use my ranger for wurm runs because its capable of doing revives, reflects and is condition-based, making it the best character to plug any gaps in the raid during setup. I lead pug runs for Tequatl if for some reason I don't get in the TTS map, so if you don't see me repping while in Sparkfly Fen, it's because I'm herding pugs. For wurm, I can do any and all roles, but usually do reflects and part-time condi/kegruns in Cobalt when Whirling Defense is on cooldown. I've full ascended for most of the important chars and majority-ascended for the others, but no legendaries because screw my luck. I'm also guild leader of a mostly-inactive guild because WvW-based people ragequit the game en-masse when the megaservers obliterated all sense of world identity. And a former WvW com, except nobody really cares nowadays outside of leagues.

My real life is too packed for now for me to want to apply for a leadership position. Two-timing a temp job and programming a game leaves little time for even gaming, let alone responsibilities in gaming.

Something people don't know about me: The first time my RuneScape guild knew I wasn't a girl was when I used TeamSpeak (yes, TeamSpeak ONE). I don't type like typical men, but I don't type like typical women either, so people often assume I'm female simply because my character is female.

Colour of underwear (the important question): ...what underwear o_O

P.S. I just did my first wurm reflect call on EU Cobalt tonight, and all the calls were on target, yay. Only 4 reflectors, too, of whom two were new. Sadly two eggs got out of the extreme northwest end, but it wasn't an issue since they never actually seemed to get aggroed on anyone.

P.P.S. Evers always forgets me. *tears*

P.P.P.S. My heart was broken when Saith told us not to reproduce. Granted, not 'me' since I was already in stealth mode, but still, to hear a voice that nice say that... =(

P.P.P.P.S. I'm a fan of the voices of Ikeda Uematsu/Morgan Freeman, Saith of Dusk and Kalak-in-radioshow-mode.

P.P.P.P.P.S. I like to postpostpostpostpostscript.

I was only on Gaia for a while, and only for the roleplaying guild, hehe... When my account got hacked, I lost all my amazing outfit stuff (they had sold it for something like... what... 14mil?... back in the beginning of '13), and really kind of lost interest beyond that. I love roleplaying, especially via text, but... most of the games in the guild I was part of were some kind of weird anime or super-short 2-line response kind of games. Bleh...

Name: Master Of Swordsmen. AKA: MoS, Alex (less used)

About me: I am a College Student trying to graduate in May with a Major in Media Arts and a minor in Community Leadership Development. When I'm not playing GW2 I'm pulling all nighters for assignments due to procrastination xD.

My game handle comes from 13 year old Alex being unable to come up with an actual name in Guild Wars 1 and deciding to go with a title instead for my warrior. Ended up keeping it long term since it happened to sort of fit lore wise once Nightfall came out (Master Of Whispers Hero).

Fun fact- a real life friend pointed the game out to me when I couldn't buy it myself. We shared the account until I got one for my birthday, but since only one person could be logged in at a time, we had time tables for who could play on his account at a given time (yes, it led to conflicts. yes, I'm a horrible person and he's a good friend).

I have a deep love for games with a rich backstory and lore. It's why Guild Wars speaks so well to me (Mass Effect being another). This in mind, while I don't participate, I do greatly appreciate the Role Play community. At the very least, each of my own characters has their own full fledged story in the world of Tyria.

Something people don't know about me: A few people know now, but for everyone else: in high school I used to run a YouTube channel based around gaming.  I never completed a project and continuously vow I will return to it someday even to this day. Looking back recently, I actually have a decent sizable view count on my main series for a person that doesn't upload anymore and is an unknown presence on YouTube overall.

Bonus fact: Eagle Scout for the Boy Scouts of America.

Color of underwear (seriously, still creepy Merf)Red, White, and Blue, but they are not USA boxers.

hahaha. I sometimes re-adopt the accent when I talk to my Grandma or my dad who still live there. So I just love it and I can usually tell when someone is from MN, I used to have a friend form another game who was from MN and We became good friends because of it all cause of his voice on Ventrilo haha.

The thing about me though, is that my "accent" is universal lol.. I've lived all around the US for certain periods.. so I've got that middle accent.. where you can't quite tell where I'm from unless I told you lol.. kind of like people from California .. no accent lol.  The only thing you might be able to tell is the phrases I use, which would be known in MN.   Kind of like Texas has the "I'll tell u what" .. small details like that.

@Kyriel I've been to the NWT during the middle of winter. I can only assume summers are nice, but December in the Yukon and Northwest Territories have about as much appeal as drowning in your own toilet. But, my god, the Banff and Jasper parks in Alberta are about as pretty a places as I've ever been. I could dissapear into that wilderness and be okay with never being found again.

@Gwendolynne Text-based RP? As in MUX and MUSHes? Haven't been involved in that scene for many years now, but there was a point in my life where I basically lived on Wheel of Time MUSHes. Learned a lot about writing and world creating during that time. And met a few people I'm still friends with today.

Name: I go by "Paradox" and my character names are all below. You may recognise a few!

About me: I'm a 20yo guy from Singapore and is awaiting further studies in the arts. I wish to be in the creative industry (entertainment/advertising/VFX/fine art/theatre) someday and am currently building up my portfolio to be appreciable in the business. My favourite art movements/genres are baroque, cubism, (post-)surrealism and psychedelic; they are inspired with fantasy, mythology, folklore and science fiction elements, forever enthralling me with their mysterious charms. I also read a lot of spirituality stuff (my ranger's name is inspired from it) and if you enjoy such stuffs, do talk to me! :D

I joined TTS in March/April 2014 but only became more 'vocal'/noisy very recently, mostly because I made new friends like Queen Emeralda, Rrif and Fortis Arcana who talk to me. I've visited the TeamSpeak more often, hope to make more new friends! o/

Also, TTS has been my first large-scale guild in any MMO I've played and has been my greatest in-game decision ever. The numbers of large-scale events that we can complete (Boss Blitz was my most prominent experience with TTS) really amazes me. Also, the number of friendly and helpful people here makes for a pleasant experience.

Something people don't know about me: I used to be from my school's choir and I believe that I have an okay singing voice (: so I'm all for a teq/wrum karaoke please!

Colour of underwear (the important question): ._.

P.S. I have an interest in physics too (not the math side) so that photo Wickfish posted looks super cool! Will probably never work on such stuff in real life though.
