Sparkfly Fen Champ/Event Train

Recommended Posts

Summary

Hello all,

So I decided to create a guide to the Sparkfly Champ farm for easy reference and linking if needed for new players. Note that some variations may be present for each time zone, this is a representation of the OCE champ farm which is made up of Asian farmers and so therefore is the most efficient =p. Before we go into it, a few pieces of etiquette regarding champ farm:

  1. Party up and tag up if possible. This will allow people to see where you are at.
  2. Do not attack until the last tag has arrived. For the love of god. You'll get your bag whether you attack now or in 10 seconds. Patience and let people with potato computers load in and get their bag.
  3. Usually it's useful to have someone be the person to direct the champ farm and let people know when to attack to the champ.

Here's the map - link to full size!

Champ Events Overview

  1. Start at Krait Hypnoss. Gather in the water just south of Hypnoss before attacking. Spawns roughly every 25 minutes
  2. Champ Spider : Flamefrog Waypoint — [&BMwBAAA=]. Wait outside the spider cavern before attacking. If the timer is up, don't worry, you just need to attack and engage it before the timer is up, not kill it. Spawns roughly every 5 minutes
  3. Champ Troll: Brackwater Waypoint — [&BM4BAAA=]. Wait on the outside of the island before attacking. Sometimes doesn't scale up properly so take care. Throw brackwater supplies into orbit to summon him. Spawns roughly every 10-15 minutes
  4. Champ Juggernaut : Aleem's Waypoint — [&BM8BAAA=]. Juggernaut only appears if the event to defend the door FAILS. Generally, someone will need to activate the event by running up to the door (usually done on the way to spider / troll). When the event activates, stand at the waypoint / behind the wall and let the mobs knock down the door. Once the door is knocked down, the Champ will spawn. If the door is already knocked down then you'll need to fin the Juggernaut who patrols in a circle around Stone of Hazaan. Spawns roughly every 10-15 minutes
  5. Champ Shark : Ocean's Gullet Waypoint — [&BMkBAAA=]. Shark patrols either north or south of the waypoint. Spawns roughly every 10-15 minutes
  6. Krait Lab: Splintered Coast Waypoint — [&BNABAAA=]. Defence event, sometimes you'll need to wait for it to pop. Spawns roughly every 15-20 minutes. This event is the most lucrative and if everyone respects the event, you can get upwards of a dozen champ bags in one go. There'll be waves of champions followed by 2-3 waves of trash. There are two directions in which krait will spawn, to the west and to the east. They will spawn and come in waves, alternating in originating directions. The best way is to focus on one wave  at a time and clear it before heading to the other side to clear the other wave. Some points of etiquette to consider:
    • Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
    • Stay in the event circle to keep it scaled up.
    • Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
    • Use pulls to pull in mobs and champs so you don't have to run far outside of the event circle.
    • Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
    • Let people AFK at the waypoint die so they don't distract future waves
    • Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
    • Stay grouped up and move as a ball
    • Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side

Event Train Order

The best order is mostly in order as per above. If you map in staight after KQ, you should be able to run the following cycle:

Hypnoss > Spider > Troll > Juggernaut > Aleem's Mini chest > Shark > Spider > Krait Lab > Spider > Troll > Juggernaut > Shark > Verarium Delves JP > Spider > Krait Lab > Spider > Troll > Jugger Naut > Shark > Spider > Krait Lab / Hypnoss* > Teq

Just be wary of timer for Krait Lab and make sure  everything is setup and get ready to break krait lab early as this event can usually end about 2-minutes after Teq has landed.

This is a nice write-up.

I hope you don't mind some unsolicited feedback. On your reddit post, I'd format it like this:

**Basic Etiquette**

* Party up and tag up if possible. This will allow people to see where you are at.
* Do not attack until the last tag has arrived. For the love of the Six. You'll get your bag whether you attack now or in 10 seconds. Patience and let people with potato computers load in and get their bag.
* Usually it's useful to have someone be the person to direct the champ farm and let people know when to attack to the champ.

**Champ and Event Guide**

* **Krait Hypnoss**

 Gather in the water just south of Hypnoss before attacking.
 * Spawns roughly every 25 minutes.

* **Champ Spider** (Flamefrog Waypoint)

        [&BMwBAAA=]

 Wait outside the spider cavern before attacking.
 * If the timer is up, don't worry, you just need to attack and engage it before the timer is up, not kill it.
 * Spawns roughly every 5 minutes.

* **Champ Troll** (Brackwater Waypoint)

        [&BM4BAAA=]

 Wait on the outside of the island before attacking.
 * Sometimes doesn't scale up properly so take care.
 * Throw brackwater supplies into orbit to summon him.
 * Spawns roughly every 10-15 minutes.

* **Champ Juggernaut** (Aleem's Waypoint)

        [&BM8BAAA=]

 Juggernaut only appears if the event to defend the door FAILS.
 * Generally, someone will need to activate the event by running up to the door (usually done on the way to spider / troll). When the event activates, stand at the waypoint / behind the wall and let the mobs knock down the door. Once the door is knocked down, the Champ will spawn. If the door is already knocked down then you'll need to find the Juggernaut who patrols in a circle around Stone of Hazaan.
 * Spawns roughly every 10-15 minutes.

* **Champ Shark** (Ocean's Gullet Waypoint)

        [&BMkBAAA=]

 Shark (Megalodon) patrols either north or south of the waypoint.
 * Spawns roughly every 10-15 minutes.

* **Krait Lab** (Splintered Coast Waypoint)

        [&BNABAAA=]

 Defence event, sometimes you'll need to wait for it to pop.
 * This event is the most lucrative and if everyone respects the event, you can get upwards of a dozen champ bags in one go. There'll be waves of champions followed by 2-3 waves of trash. There are two directions in which krait will spawn, to the west and to the east. They will spawn and come in waves, alternating in originating directions. The best way is to focus on one wave at a time and clear it before heading to the other side to clear the other wave.
 * Spawns roughly every 15-20 minutes.
 * Some points of etiquette to consider:
     1. Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
     2. Stay in the event circle to keep it scaled up.
     3. Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
     4. Use pulls to pull in mobs and champs so you don't have to run far outside of the event circle.
     5. Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
     6. Let people AFK at the waypoint die so they don't distract future waves
     7. Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side
     8. Stay grouped up and move as a ball
     9. Make sure you kill every last veteran, elite before moving to the other side

**Event Train Order**

The best order is mostly in order as per above. If you map in straight after KQ, you should be able to run the following cycle:

1. Hypnoss
* Spider > Troll > Juggernaut > Aleem's Mini chest > Shark
* Spider > Krait Lab
* Spider > Troll > Juggernaut > Shark > Verarium Delves JP
* Spider > Krait Lab
* Spider > Troll > Juggernaut > Shark
* Spider > Krait Lab
* Hypnoss
* Tequatl

Just be wary of timer for the last Krait Lab and make sure everything is setup and get ready to break krait lab early as this event can usually end about 2-minutes after Teq has landed.

The main things:

  • Put the chat codes on their own lines for easier copying+pasting
  • Indentation of the points of etiquette under Krait Lab.
  • Tried to make the event train order easier to read. Not sure what the best format is, but I split it around Spider spawn times
  • The itemization of the descriptions is sort of arbitrary; it works for me, but might not work for others.
  • [typo] "fin the Juggernaut" → "find the Juggernaut"
  • [typo] "For the love of god." → "For the love of the Six."

Some additional things that might be useful to call out:

  • Guaranteed Rich Platinum Vein in spider cavern
  • Possible Rich Platinum Vein north of spider
  • Possible Rich Platinum Vein north of Ocean's Gullet
  • Champion Risen Lich? I'm not too sure how to get the event going. If it's not worth it, then maybe it is still worth calling out as such.
