  1. HoT Mastery Points needed

I'm a long time player of GW2, having started playing a few months after launch, but for some reason, I was not fond of the HoT expansion, so I did not play it much, just barely enough to get my primary character through the Living Story chapters in those maps. I have gotten all, or almost all of the easy to medium hard mastery points available by doing map completion and the bare minimum to complete the Living World story, but I'm still needing about 36 to 42 mastery points, to complete all the mastery tracks for HoT, and unlike PoF and Central Tyria, it is much more difficult to acquire those last 40 to 50 mastery points solo, as they require timed kills, not being hit by certain bosses, repeated runs through story content, etc. I'm writing this message to ask if any other TTS members are in the same boat as myself, who would like to set up some group play times and dates, to work toward getting your missing HoT mastery points. I hope that there are a few of you interested in joining me on this journey, even if it is only one day/night a week (or month), for a couple hours. I also hope that some members are still checking these forum posts, as there is very little activity here. So, if you are interested in helping me out, or need the mastery points for HoT maps yourself, please send me a message here, in GW2 chat, or in GW2 mail. Thanks for your time reading this. 2. Edit: I found my previous introduction post in the "General Chat" section, so I'm sorry for duplicating it, but if your interested, read this anyway, as it has different info about me than the one I posted 7 months ago. I'm still hoping to make friends in this guild, who I can play content with regularly. Hello all TTS Gamers! I've been playing GW2 since about 5 or 6 months after launch, and I've been a member of TTS guild long enough to have been kicked once for lack of activity (IIRC), and joined again, or had my membership reinstated, can't remember which. I can't remember, because I'm an old fart, born in the mid 1950's, and I have a Grandson, who is in High School as I type this message. I've been using my nick-name since the early days of the Internet, before most of you were born, when my first home computer was a used Commodore "Amiga A1000" computer, that I purchased some time in 1986. It was a fantastic machine with 4 channels of 8-bit sound, 4096 colors available, and the best multi-tasking operating system of any home computer system from that time period. It is not widely known, because the bad mis-management of Commodore, which was once the largest personal computer manufacturer in the world, forced the company into bankruptcy proceedings in 1994, and doomed most computer users around the world, to using Windows. I won't bore you with any more about the Amiga, unless you ask, but that is where the first half of my nick-name comes from, not some Spanish transgender site or group. ;-) GW2 is the first and only MMO that I play, and I was introduced to it through my youngest Son, who played GW1 for several years, and he was leaving home to go to college right around the time GW2 was released. I purchased GW1, but never installed or played it, because I wanted to know what it was, and why my Son was spending so much time playing it with his friends. I purchased and started playing GW2, because I wanted to keep in touch with my Son while he was away at college, and I thought it might be fun to participate with him often, to keep up with what was happening in his life. Unfortunately, his play style is very different than mine, as he focuses mostly on PvP, and WvW, while I am more laid back, and enjoy the PvE and Story content of the game, so we rarely play any GW2 content together, so I am forced to wait weeks or months between his emails, or phone calls home to me, instead of keeping in contact weekly with GW2 as I had hoped. I'm not complaining (much) though, as I have become thoroughly hooked on GW2, and very much enjoy playing it almost every day, even if it is only for 20 to 30 minutes. I'm writing this late introduction of myself here, because I am hoping to make some new friends, and do more content with guild mates, as I work toward becoming more proficient with several different classes of characters, so I can RAID with confidence and work toward obtaining Legendary Armor. My main is a Norn Ranger/Druid/SoulBeast, which I used a Total Make-Over Kit to change from male to female, so I could shorten it as much as possible, after finding out how badly I suck at jumping puzzles. My 2nd most used toon is a male Human Guardian/Dragon Hunter. I have a total of 18 level 80 characters, as I wanted to experience all story lines, or at least one of each profession, then expanded my alts to include at least one female and one male of every race. I later expanded my alts further, to include one Asura race toon of each profession. I've finished map completion with 4 or 5 of my toons, and I'm currently making progress to complete all story and "Living World" events, with a couple of my alts, as I feel that I rushed through the story and Living World events too quickly on my main, and did not fully understand all of the content. I'm also doing it again, so I can obtain more of the ascended gear that is earned during the process of story and Living World completion. I have maxed out all crafting professions, except for Scribe, as I had no interest in doing Guild Hall decorations, but did want the ability to craft ascended weapons and armor. I have crafted 4 complete sets of ascended armor (2 sets of light armor, and 1 each of medium and heavy), and at least one ascended weapon of every type, with 2 or 3 of the weapons which can be "dual wielded", as well as 7 legendary weapons, although I sold the legendary trident, so I could buy the precursor for my Twilight great sword. I'm a little burned out on grinding to craft more legendary weapons, so I'm taking a break from that for a short while, and will get back to working on more of them in the future, as I have purchased several of the cheaper precursors. The expensive ones, like the dagger, and maybe the BiFrost staff, I will use the HoT method to craft the precursors. Sorry for such a long introduction, I'll close this with an invitation to all TTS members to look me up "in game", if you need any assistance crafting, or completing any content. I'm always up for helping out fellow guild members, and I much prefer playing GW2 with friends, than playing it alone, or with pugs.
  3. Introduction

Thanks for the replies, they were both very helpful. I have already contacted the TTS raiding guild (I think), and asked questions about the cost of getting their help toward getting myself a legendary armor set. The quote was a bit of a shock, but considering the amount of time and effort that goes into something like that, I didn't think the quote was excessive. I'll try to attend as many TTS group events as I can over the next few weeks, to find out if I fit in with many/most of the rest of the members. Unfortunately, my current residential location does not have any good Internet providers, and the best option I have is a tiny company that uses microwave transmission to deliver a signal to a tower mounted on a water tank on the hill behind my house. Often when I try to play GW2 at peak hours on the West Coast, I have trouble running GW2 and TS3 at the same time, without experiencing disconnections, or huge lag times. DSL is supposed to be installed in this area, but I'm not a fan of DSL either, and don't know if the performance will improve much, over what I currently have, if/when DSL become available for my particular house address. I live in an area that has all underground utilities, which makes the process of installing DSL longer, than it would take if they were installing wires on existing power/telephone poles. Thanks again for the replies, and I look forward to meeting you both "in game".
  4. Introduction

Hi All, I've been playing GW2 for more than 4 years now, mostly doing PVE stuff alone or with pugs, though I have tried a few different guilds, looking for a good fit, and I hope that TTS will be the end of my searching. I have been hoping to find a guild that actively works toward making this game more fun to play, by incorporating group play and teaching. I think that many players wish to learn how to play more than one profession well, and/or how to maximize the effectiveness of their play on their main character. TTS seems to me to be one of the few guilds that cares about training players how to be more effective at many different parts of this huge GW2 gaming experience. Even though I have over 6,000 hours of logged playing time on GW2, I know that I still have lots to learn, and that I could improve my play style and effectiveness, if I had a few mentors willing to teach me what they know. GW2 is the only computer game I play, and I still enjoy it a great deal, but know that I could enjoy it even more, playing with a group of people that I get to know over time, by playing group content together. There are still many parts of the HoT maps and events that I have not completed, but would like to. I haven't even tried a single RAID yet, but really want to do that too. I am open to the idea of becoming more active in WvW and starting out at the bottom of playing PvP, but would prefer to learn how to play those parts of the game better from experienced players, instead of just randomly learning by trial and error, over a longer period of time. I won't drag this introduction out any longer (I have a tendency to ramble on too long sometimes), but I would appreciate any feedback from other TTS members, leaders, council members, or the "Keeper", either confirming that I have found the right guild, or telling me that I should keep looking elsewhere, because my expectations are not aligned with the goals of TTS. Here is a condensed list of what I want to do in GW2 in the future: Raids - I have at least one, if not two, level 80 toons for every profession, ascended armor sets in light, medium & heavy armor weights, & at least one of each ascended weapon (6 legendary weapons I crafted), and I'm willing to craft more to get the right stats on my weapons and armors. Fractals - currently at level 43 fractal rewards with about 90 to 95 agony resistance, but want to increase reward level, and agony resistance, so I can play tier 4 fractals WvW - want to learn all the maps better, and the most common strategies to help win points. So far, I have only entered WvW to buy Gift of Battle for crafting Legendary weapons. PvP - would really like to perfect my play style on multiple toon professions, to at least average capabilities, so I can be an asset to most teams, not a detriment. I have played almost zero PvP so far. Guild Missions, Dungeons, Fractals, and any other repetitive content - would like to become proficient, so I can assist others in completing content successfully. Sorry for such a long post. Looking forward to meeting other TTS members in game soon. Lastly, Amiga is the name of a discontinued (fantastic) computer from the mid 1980's, which was my first computer. I've been using the AmigaDave nickname since the Internet was very young.
  5. Craft Services

I'm also available to help any members with crafting needs, as I have maxed out all crafting professions. Just contact me in game, and send the materials needed with a note telling me what you want crafted.
