  1. PG-13 TOPICS AND LANGUAGE

That's all I was asking for thanks Saith
  2. PG-13 TOPICS AND LANGUAGE

I tossed out a PR to the council so I guess it is a wait and see moment. Like I said I have no issue cleaning things up, it just seems there is a lot of knee jerking happening over minor things and I could see how that could be a negative experience or feeling for the person who is being pulled up for their infraction. Being told you naughty boy watch your mouth can be just as belittling. More so when you personally feel you are being incredibly tame and well within what most would consider PG-13. That being said I find it rather interesting that the assumption a few times now has been that I was insulting someone... says a lot about this community. Bottom line is at this point and time due to this issue I am incredibly hesitant to even log into or even speak on T/s out of a fear that something I say is going to be "OMG PG-13!!!"
  3. About you!

Name: Papa Iggy, Iggy, Hey you About Me: I am a Addiction Specialist currently working at a methadone clinic with heroin addicts, I have a PhD in Philosophy but I am also a licensed Clinical Psychologist as well. I am a single father of a wonderful 8 year old soon to be 9 December 27th, he may occasionally be heard shouting "head shot" or some other such nonsense over my mic as he plays COD during his gaming time which happens to be when I get to play GW2. I have been gaming online since the early 90's when the Pentium 75 hit the market, I played Neverwinter Nights on America Online for several years paying .14 a minute for a 14400 baud rate connection over the phone line. From there I went to UO, EQ, AO... suffice it to say I have played a lot of games online. Things you may not know about me: I can be an incredibly negative person due to drama with my sons mother and custody issues. I try very hard not to transfer that angst to the game as it is of course my escape from reality but I apparently can be very salty when I am in a mood from dealing with her and her shenanigans. Other then that I am always to help people regardless of the benefit to me for doing so. Also I have met the Dali Lama in person and had dinner with him. Colour of underwear: Commando
  4. PG-13 TOPICS AND LANGUAGE

Well since the standard of TTS is PG-13 that is what I specifically addressed. It would seem to me that if the Council is using a specifically PG-13 standard as the baseline then it would be the responsibility of the other nationalities within TTS to educate themselves on what a PG-13 standard is.
  5. PG-13 TOPICS AND LANGUAGE

I have read the TTS unlike the average person I do actually read rules and such when I join a new thing. TTS doesn't mention anything about language. Point is the PG-13 policy seems to be getting enforced as a zero tolerance to just about everything and anything. Which I am fine with, but that's not PG-13 by any countries definition. At best what is being enforced is a G rating so let's just call it waht it is or better define it. Didn't really feel this was PR worthy but I guess I will follow that process.
  6. PG-13 TOPICS AND LANGUAGE

Seriously folks, I am a 45 year old man while I understand we need to keep things pg-13 I think some people need to un twist their undies a bit on what actually IS PG-13. Certainly this means NO F-bombs. But since when is the words FRAG, FRAC, FIG, etc not PG-13? I mean seriously come on. But aside from that I have heard plenty of folks drop more then one F-Bomb and no one crawls up their bum over it. But I dropped the word DAMN and suddenly I got 5 people going WOO WOO WOO pg-13 man... REALLY!? Below is what the movies define as PG-13 which is by far WAAAAAAAy more scandalous then what you people think is pg-13. A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. The theme of the motion picture by itself will not result in a rating greater than PG-13, although depictions of activities related to a mature theme may result in a restricted rating for the motion picture. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context. The Rating Board nevertheless may rate such a motion picture PG-13 if, based on a special vote by a two-thirds majority, the Raters feel that most American parents would believe that a PG-13 rating is appropriate because of the context or manner in which the words are used or because the use of those words in the motion picture is inconspicuous. A G-rated motion picture contains nothing in theme, language, nudity, sex, violence or other matters that, in the view of the Rating Board, would offend parents whose younger children view the motion picture. The G rating is not a “certificate of approval,” nor does it signify a “children’s” motion picture. Some snippets of language may go beyond polite conversation but they are common everyday expressions. No stronger words are present in G-rated motion pictures. Depictions of violence are minimal. No nudity, sex scenes or drug use are present in the motion picture. In closing what you are calling pg-13 is closer to PG or even G so why not just call it that and drop the pretense.
